Rebirth R75/R72 Downhill Deck

The R75 and R72 downhill decks share the same construction philosophy and performance characteristics, differing only in overall size. Are designed specifically for downhill, focusing on stability, control, and consistency under demanding conditions.

The R75 and R72 feature a precisely shaped foot pocket with a subtle, ergonomically designed concave that naturally guides foot placement while maintaining long-term comfort. This allows riders to step in confidently, lock their stance, and maintain precise control during high-speed runs.

Unlike the vacuum-assisted molding process commonly used in the industry, the R75 and R72 are manufactured using an integrated upper-and-lower steel mold pressing technique. By applying uniform pressure from both sides through rigid steel molds, the deck achieves a more accurate shape and a higher level of structural consistency.

This construction results in a denser internal structure and more evenly distributed fibers throughout the deck. By minimizing voids and inconsistencies between layers, the board responds more predictably under load and maintains a consistent flex profile across its entire surface.

Thanks to the optimized internal structure, the R75 and R72 demonstrate improved overall strength, enhanced impact resistance, and a well-controlled flex. They effectively absorb road vibrations while retaining enough rebound to remain responsive, avoiding the overly stiff or “dead” feel often found in reinforced downhill decks.

As a result, both models deliver reliable and consistent performance even under high-speed downhill conditions and challenging terrain. Whether navigating rough pavement, high-load corners, or long descents, they maintain predictable behavior and rider confidence throughout the run.

Board Construction & Material Layup

The R75 and R72 decks are constructed using a carefully engineered multi-layer layup designed to balance stiffness, durability, vibration damping, and controlled flex for downhill. The material stack, from top to bottom, is as follows:

• White high-molecular polymer fiberglass board

The entire construction is wrapped in a 95–97A polyurethane layer, providing additional impact resistance, edge protection, and vibration absorption while maintaining a direct and responsive ride feel.
